What happened to children of ministers, MPs ?


 Children of several ministers and politicians contested the local government election.
This is how they fared:

UPFA

Hirunika Premachandra (daughter of the late Bharatha Lakshman Premachandra) – 139,034 votes (1st in Colombo)

Senal Welgama (son of minister Kumar Welgama) – 115,385 votes (1st in Kalutara)

Malsha Kumaratunga (daughter of minister Jeevan Kumaratunga) – 43,324 votes (5th in Colombo)

Pasindu Yapa Abeywardena (son of minister Lakshman Yapa Abeywardena) – 76,870 votes (1st in Matara)

Randima Gamage (son of minister Piyasena Gamage) – 38,168 votes (4th in Galle)

|Isuru Dodangoda (son of late minister Amarasiri Dodangoda) – 23,920 votes (9th in Galle)

Kanchana Wijesekara (son of former minister Mahinda Wijesekara) – 31,422 votes (5th in Matara)

UNP

Kavinda Jayawardena (son of late Dr. Jayalath Jayawardena) – 41,654 votes (2nd in Gampaha)

Tharaka Nanayakkara (son of Hemakumara Nanayakkara) – 10,629 votes (11th in Galle, but lost)

Chatura Galappatti (son of Justin Galappatti) – 27,930 votes (1st in Matara)
